Telephone Appointments
Telephone Appointments

The surgery offers patients the opportunity to have a booked telephone consultation with their doctor, as an alternative to coming to the surgery.

Each doctor has approximately 4 available telephone appointments per day for their patients. There are usually 2 in the mornings and 2 in the afternoons. You will be given a time and the doctor will telephone you back usually within half an hour either side of that given time slot.

Things that are appropriate for a telephone appointment are:

bulletMedication/Prescription problems,
bulletCondition reviews,
bulletWhere the doctor has asked that you make a telephone appointment to discuss your test results further
bulletGeneral advice

The receptionist can advise you as to whether a telephone appointment is appropriate if you are unsure.

If your doctor has no telephone appointments left for that day, you can either ask for one the following day if the matter can wait, or if it is considered urgent, the receptionist will ask the Duty Doctor for that day to telephone you back.

Training Practice

As a training Practice we take on fully qualified doctors training to be General Practitioners (‘Registrars’) who, having spent an additional two years in hospital training, spend one year with us to gain further expertise and experience. We also accommodate final year medical students from St George’s Hospital for their attachment in the community. Nurses and midwives in training also gain experience with our team.
